NSA “Upgrade” Factory Photos

In a previous article I recommended that targeted individuals consider purchasing electronics from retail stores. Here is further information to back up that recommendation.

The article below, from a mainstream technology media source, Ars Technica, shows photos of an NSA “Upgrade” factory where hardware is modified by the clandestine agency. The article also includes a quote from an NSA manager.

A favorite target for these NSA hardware backdoors is networking equipment. So I would especially recommend that any targeted individual purchasing any kind of home networking equipment such as routers or any other networking gear make their purchases in-store preferably on short notice, even selecting a random store.
